Visit to St. Joseph's hospital, Ennis
On the 8th of December 2012, a number of students from St. John Bosco Community College went on their annual trip to St. Joseph's hospital in Ennis, to decorate, paint and carol sing for the patients. The students benefited greatly from their work on the day interacting with the patients and staff and they brough a little bit of festive cheer to the patients.St .Vincent de Paul Fundraising 2011
St .Vincent de Paul Fundraising 2011
In May 2011, a group of students with Mrs O'Brien organised some fundraising for St Vincent de Paul. Aircrew from the Shannon Rescue Helicopter unit who were part of the project did a stop over after a training mission in order to collect the cheque (300 euros) on behalf of St Vincent de Paul. It was for many students a great opportunity to see a Sikorsky S-61N helicopter on their own turf !
Some students had the chance to get inside the rescue helicopter. It was definitely a very impressive show over our football pitch -
Many thanks to all and hope to see you again. Slan!
Bóthar - Charity
St. John Bosco Community College have supported the work of Bóthar for many years. In 2012 they have taken their project a step further by sending an in-calf, fresian heifer to Romania. Bóthar work in over forty developing countries and with the generosity of local farmer, from Coolmeen, Brendan Cleary, a family in Romania benefited greatly from this scheme.
